Albany Rowing Center's Youth Summer Rowing Camp teaches athletes ages 12-18 about the sport of rowing in a fun and educational setting. Campers learn basic sweep and sculling techniques, water and boat safety, good rowing machine practices, land training, camaraderie, and the importance of teamwork. Young writers will visit multiple spaces on campus for inspiration as they explore multiple genres of writing. On each day of the workshop, acclaimed professional authors affiliated with the New York State Writers Institute will visit to give readings and engage in craft discussions.

Lighthouse Writers Workshop
Lighthouse offers a wide array of full and half-day summer camps from June through August for young writers ages eight to 18. Whether they've got a few novels under their belt, are new but curious about poems, or are a reluctant writer, our camps offer a fun, creative, and challenging way for young people to explore and express who they are, build new friendships, and create truly beautiful works of art.
