The British Library has decided to make its exhibit: “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” available online so everyone magic-born and muggle alike can have a chance to experience it during the current crisis.

You can tour exhibitions including, to (be)scare, Ashley Pelletier Dissembling the Self, Brooks Dierdorff Ballistics & Blindsight, and Tony Saunders elucidating, among others. 

This exhibition contextualizes Mary Ann Scherr’s early career in industrial design, illustration and fashion during the 1940s-1950s, and special highlights in the form of larger pieces in metal (eg. academic medallions for NC State and Meredith, four aluminum mythological figures and body monitors). Scherr’s range of jewelry design are also exhibited, including chokers/ necklaces and cuffs/ bracelets; titanium work; and smaller pieces/ personal commissions. Many pieces, currently in private hands, are exhibited for the first time.

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses the largest collection of artworks by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) in the world. The permanent collection includes over 200 paintings by Vincent van Gogh, 500 drawings and more than 750 letters. The museum also presents exhibitions on various subjects from 19th-century art history.

I have put together 8 fun instructional dance videos/tutorials with other dancers from different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, India & Russia. Through VDanceTogether we can help children stay physically and mentally active! My hope is to bring positivity to these children, and help relieve some stress that many of them are feeling during this time. These videos will inspire children to stay active and provide them with something to get excited for! Because this project includes dance tutorials from all over the world, the kids have an opportunity to learn about different cultures and connect with the dancers!

Creating Community Through Traditional Dance and Music

Families and communities have provided for their own entertainment throughout history. This program of community dancing and music helps students to develop an awareness of what life was like before television, computers, and CD's, especially during the 18th, 19^th, and early 20th centuries.

Peter Davis, Paul Rosenberg and George Wilson involve students in discussions about the role of homemade music and dance to celebrate weddings, historical events, community gatherings, and to make social commentary. Students are introduced to the origins, sounds and uses of folk instruments - including fiddle, banjo, mandolin, clarinet, pennywhistle, and guitar.

Workshops are chock-full of community–building activities that get everyone up and moving. By participating in community (folk, contra and square) dances and singing games, students experience a variety of styles and customs from different countries. These are living traditions influenced by various cultures over the centuries. Dances presented come from more than 50 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Free workshops for middle school girls, grades 5-8. Students can explore topics like HTML & CSS, C++, JavaScript, Python, Engineering, IoT, AI, and so much more. All things tech!

What is Surrogacy?

Surrogacy is a modern and growing means of bringing new life into the world, where a woman carries a baby for another person or a couple. The intended parents undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF), meaning fertilization outside of the body, to transfer an embryo into the surrogate mother’s uterus. In our work at ConceiveAbilities, surrogates are not genetically or legally related to the baby and are compensated for their time and service by the intended parents. In 2018, more than 10,000 births took place by surrogate in the United States, and the market is steadily growing at 15% per year based on data from the Centers for Disease Control. And, in the past ten years, the percentage of all IVF transfers that took place with a gestational carrier grew from just over 1% to 4.8%.

What Are Surrogate Requirements?

In order to ensure that surrogacy can be a healthy and successful experience for you, the basic requirements include your age, your experience with prior deliveries, and your medical history.

The basic requirements include

• Have you given birth before?
• A history of at least one full-term, health and uncomplicated pregnancy is essential to ensuring your surrogacy journey is healthy and successful.

• How old are you?
• At the time you are matched with intended parents, you should be between 21 and 40 years of age.

• Where do you live?
• Compensated surrogacy is legal in most, but not all states. And, certain locations are highly valued by intended parents and you can earn higher compensation.

• Are you a long-term US resident?
• The surrogacy journey is lengthy and is accomplished only by working with a US-based IVF clinic.

• Are you physically healthy?
• You must have an uncomplicated medical history, not be over- or under-weight, not currently smoke, and be free of certain chronic conditions.

• Are you emotionally healthy?
• Your surrogacy journey is demanding and requires a stable foundation in your life without undue stress.

A live stream of some of the cutest puppies. Currently, we have three females and five males. The stream is live twice a day, for two hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. We also keep the videos up afterward if anyone wants to go back and watch the puppies.

Take the virtual tours of the museum and nature center’s extensive grounds including the farmhouse, great room and terrace.

Our Education Department will present daily live programs on YouTube at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm (AKDT), seven days a week. Visit our Virtual Classroom to learn about Alaska’s marine ecosystem and the Alaskan animals we house. Past programs can be accessed from ASLC’s YouTube channel.

We will also stream via live webcam from one of our aquariums on YouTube from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This content will change daily, but you might have the opportunity to watch puffins swim underwater, view our seals and Steller sea lions, or relax with our moon jellies.

Also, watch our website and our Facebook page for announcements of special Facebook Live events. Our staff will introduce you to resident animals, teach you about the different flora and fauna we house, and take you behind the scenes. A special announcement about one of our animals will take place via Facebook Live on Thursday March 26 at 10:00 am.

While we are closed to the public, our dedicated animal caretakers, veterinarians, and researchers will continue to provide the highest standards of professional care and welfare to our animals onsite. During this difficult time the community can support our team by donating to the Center on our website at www.alaskasealife.org/donate. You can also become a member of ASLC online by visiting www.alaskasealife.org/memberships. Donations and memberships directly support our animals and staff and assist the team in accomplishing important mission work.

Tinker Art Studio has started a YouTube channel to support our community by bringing art workshops right to your home! Our goal is for children to be able to watch the videos and follow along as we complete art projects, learn some new techniques, work with awesome materials, and enjoy creative time each day. If you like this idea, please like our videos and subscribe! We'll be releasing new workshops weekly and you won't want to miss them.

Navigating through our new 360º Tour allows the virtual visitor a chance to explore Shawnee Town's grounds, interior and exterior of buildings, and even click on artifact, video, and mp3 prompts to learn more about the history of Shawnee, Kansas in the 1920's. Use the menu on the left to quickly navigate among the Farmstead, Town, and Visitor's Center Gallery, or click on the icons and buildings to move around and learn.

Welcome to the Avenue Road Arts School's Virtual Creative Hub. This creative area is a place where people can continue to learn, engage and connect with the arts remotely.

Geared to children, their parents, teachers, adults and those who want to continue to create and exercise creativity during these days of social distancing, the Virtual Creative Hub offers free activity ideas including art lesson plans for kids, creative exercise for teens and adults, resources and creative links and short video art demos.

The HeArts for Hope, Arts for All initiative was launched on March 26,2020 by the Be the Peace – Be the Hope collective, composed of arts, community and educational organizations. Through this program, we are inviting children, students, and families to create Heart designs, messages/poems, music, and videos for others in need of support in order to inspire, provide relief, spark joy, and share hope during these challenging times. These new online programs will offer the same commitment to promoting the understanding and appreciation of Art and Science as all of the Museum’s regular programs and events. 

While the Zoo is closed to the public, we are committed to upholding our mission to provide experiences that excite and inspire children and adults to learn and act on behalf of wildlife. Zoo to You! is a virtual extension of our educational programming - sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture - includes videos of the animals, some behind-the-scenes access with our zoo keepers, as well as crafts and activities for everyone to enjoy.

As Cheekwood’s Tots! program is temporarily suspended, we are sharing activities for parents and tots to activate at home. Use our files to create your own art projects at the links on our site!

While the Museum is closed, our CMOM educators are working to fill your child’s day with engaging interactive activity. CMOM can still be a part of  your day through videos, sing-a-longs, games and so much more for you to do together with your family at home!

Club Sign Me Up is an after-school, American Sign Language club designed for hearing kids, from elementary school through high school, to learn about Deaf culture and language. Filled with fun and innovative learning tools, the club promotes community building and language acquisition through weekly meetings. Your child can be bilingual through learning American Sign Language and be more welcoming and inclusive of the Deaf and hard of hearing, a cultural and linguistic minority in our community. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have moved all our activities into the digital space and are excited to be able to invite students from across the country!

Musical videos with accompanying activity guides connecting to curriculum. The videos encompass the new family musical LIKAH! The musical portray life lessons and discoveries of a real life Border Collie puppy.

Digital Weekends with the Bruce are fun, hands-on art and science projects for you and your family! Over the next several weekends, teaching artist Grayson Kennedy and Youth and Family Programs Manager Megan Brown will lead you in an online activity based on exhibitions at the Bruce Museum. Use the linked videos and write-ups to make something fun and creative while you’re home. 

#DisneyMagicMoments lets you experience the magic of Disney wherever you may be. Enjoy Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic with stories, videos, and activities to inspire imagination and discovery among kids, fans, and families alike.

HealthWorks! Kids' Museum's new Virtual Classroom is a tremendous resource for educators and families interested in helping children learn more about the many things they can do to protect and improve their health from the safety of their homes. With a few short clicks, children and family members can easily access videos, activities, games and even books on a variety of health-related subjects, including anatomy, hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, oral health, sleep, mental and emotional health and health careers. To assist with combating learning loss due to school closures, Legends of Learning has kick-started a Summer Learning Program for students! We've created several weeks of game-based curriculum-aligned activities and offline STEM competitions with great prizes.

What is Legends of Learning: Legends of Learning offers 2,000 3rd through 8th-grade math and science games and simulations correlated to state standards.
