Our name-sake, Susan Odell Taylor, taught at The Children’s School at Emma Willard for seven years. She was a remarkable teacher who made her classroom a dynamic learning experience and she freely shared her gifts and talents with her students, parents and colleagues. Susan's classroom was a vibrant exciting place to be. Cooking lessons, science experiments, art projects - no one passing by could resist the energy and a strong desire to be a part of that day's lesson. Who knew learning could be fun too? Susan did! Sue died in 1997 after a valiant struggle with breast cancer. At the Susan Odell Taylor School for Children, we continue Susan's passion to educate young children, and inspire their love of learning.
