A 501-C3 organization with the goal of developing youth rowing & athletic competition. Founded in 2009 by combining Schenectady Rowing Club, Guilderland Crew, & Scotia Glenville Rowing Association.
SGS Rowing serves middle school and high school student athletes. SGS founding organizations have also run community learn to row programs, and summer learn to row and swim programs for disadvantaged youth. While SGS is a newly formed organization, the precursor programs have been active for 10 years prior to the merger.
