Roof Replacement Disclaimer in 2024:
You may have noticed that we’ve offered less weeks of camp this year. Our roof is being replaced this summer, during which time, due to safety reasons, the gym will need to be completely closed. Unfortunately, the dates for this project cannot be 100% guaranteed by the roofing company, due to the nature of their work, which could be potentially impacted by adverse weather. To try and mitigate the impact this could have on our summer camps, we have scheduled extra weeks of no programming throughout the summer, including June 25 - July 5th, July 29 - August 2nd, and August 26 - September 6th as potential dates for this construction to occur. We have been in contact with the company about our requests to schedule with them during one of these times when no summer camps are planned. Even though we have made our requests and the company has been willing to work with us, ultimately, we won’t know for sure of their ability to complete the project within those dates until April. This could mean there is a small chance that we would need to reschedule one of the weeks of camp.
We recognize that when many of you schedule a summer camp with us, you are also scheduling around other summer plans and/or planning out your childcare for the weeks when school is out, and we do not take these needs lightly. Therefore, the best thing we know to do is to release this information to you as a disclaimer. We will continue to stay in contact with the roof repair company to try and schedule their work outside of our camp weeks. We have support from the building owner, who has allowed the company to schedule this construction based on our own summer camp needs. While we are doing everything in our power to prevent having to reschedule camp weeks, if this becomes necessary, we would take the following steps:
- Reschedule the camp for a different week in the summer, during one of the above mentioned dates we had planned to close.
- Contact all enrollees in the given camp week as soon as possible. We have been promised by the roofing company that their construction dates can be confirmed by April.
- Offer to currently enrolled campers the option to stay in the camp with the new dates or move to any of our other open camps.
- If moving to a different camp week is not possible, gym credit for the deposit will be offered instead.
We have purposefully lowered the summer camp deposit amounts to $100 or less this year, in the small chance that credits need to be issued.
We invite you to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about this issue and we thank you for your understanding in light of this uncertainty that could impact our summer camp plans!
