Services

Routine care

Your child should ideally be seen every six months for routine check-ups and cleanings. Maintaining recall appointments helps us to address any concerns before they become symptomatic. X-rays are taken once a year to diagnose any carries (cavities) developing between the teeth. These, along with a clinical exam by the Doctor, allow us to provide comprehensive care for your kid’s dental services. In between recall appointments, should a concern or question arise, please call our office to schedule a focused examination with the doctor. The best preventative care begins at home. Teeth should be brushed twice a day and flossed one time a day. Children should be assisted in these tasks until the age of eight. Place a brushing/flossing chart in your bathroom and mark each time they brush and floss. Positive reinforcement and team effort make all the difference in maintaining a healthy, bright smile.

Sealants

Dental sealants play an important role in maintaining a healthy mouth. A sealant is a white, resin material that is placed on the permanent molars in order to prevent cavities from forming on the chewing surface. Often times the grooves of the molars are very deep, trapping food and plaque. Toothbrush bristles cannot reach down into these grooves to remove the buildup. Sealants can help protect these areas by acting as a barrier making it easier to clean the surface with your toothbrush. All of the materials we use are BPA and BIS-GMA free and only take a few minutes to apply. The doctors will evaluate your child’s molars to ensure proper timing for placing dental sealants.

Treatment Options

Keeping your child’s smile healthy and bright is our main goal however we recognize that there are times when your child might develop a cavity that requires treatment. When those times arise we are here to provide the utmost care and treatment options for your child. In office treatment options include: Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) and Conscious Sedation (Versed). For those patients whose treatment cannot be completed in our office we offer O.R. treatment at the Saratoga Surgery Center. Dr. Sani and Dr. Garcia will review all treatment needs and offer the best option for your child. Some of the treatment services we provide are:

  • White Composite fillings – BPA and BIS-GMA free
  • Stainless Steel Crowns for the back teeth
  • Pulpotomy (a nerve treatment)

Digital X-Rays

X-rays helps the doctors provide a comprehensive diagnosis of your child’s teeth. Digital x-rays provide the doctors with a clear image that can be magnified and rotated to show the most accurate view of your child’s teeth. The benefits of digital technology versus film x-ray include: less exposure to radiation, instant viewing of the image, and the ability to show a larger image if necessary. Our staff is trained in the proper mechanics of x-rays as well as all safety protocols for your child.

Consultations

Our doctors are specialists in the dental field. They have had specific training to treat your child’s dental needs. For those specific times where treatment is needed but cannot be completed in your child’s dental practice our doctors are available for a consultation. We will review the necessary treatment, our treatment options, and answer any specific questions and concerns.Consultation appointments are available whether your current dentist is referring your child or if you are simply seeking a second opinion on your child’s dental care.
