Pre K students learn through play and work with specialists in Spanish, music and physical education.
Beginning in K-1, students learn basic skills through an integrated curriculum in math and language arts and explore themed units in social studies and world cultures through daily instruction. They work twice weekly with specialists in science, Spanish, music, art, and physical education. In 2-3 they add health class. In 4-5, Spanish extends to three days per week.
All middle school students study a core curriculum of language arts, math, science, social studies and Spanish. Connections are made across subject areas and through the arts and in an annual STEM week and field trips. All eighth grade students take Regents level Math. All students take music, art, physical education and health.
28,000 square foot architect-designed building on 77 acres of meadows, woods and streams, and a new Discovery Center built in 2017. Outdoor pavilion classroom, tree house classroom, and greenhouse. 5K trail system. Raised garden beds. Site of the Rensselaer County Master Gardeners Demonstration Gardens, Cornell Cooperative Extension.
