Peebles Island State Park is surrounded by two of New York’s largest rivers, the Mohawk and the Hudson. In this program, NYS Museum Scientist and Curator of Mollusks Dr. Denise Mayer will discuss the ecology of these large river ecosystems. Attendees will explore some of the aquatic invertebrates that inhabit these waters in samples collected on-site (weather permitting) and from other local sites.

Meet at Peebles Island Visitor Center. Adults and children 10 years old and up are welcome. Bring a water bottle. Masks are not required but are highly recommended for visitors and non-staff. Good walking shoes are required.
