March – Exploring Monochrome Colors: Friday, March 14, 2025
This month we will be exploring the concept of monochromatic color schemes. Inspired by examples from Picasso’s Blue Period, we will be experimenting with the different shades, tints, and tones of individual hues to create dynamic art pieces. We will be painting a monochromatic landscape scene with acrylic paint, as well as creating a mixed media collage with different materials all in the same color family. Exploring these two mediums will allow us an in-depth experience in monochromatic art and help our young artists see how art concepts and ideas cross mediums and styles.
