Flurry Festival

The Flurry Festival is one of the largest participatory traditional dance and music festivals in North America. It takes place over Presidents' Day Weekend in Saratoga Springs, NY, and features many genres of traditional American and International dance and music, along with dance and instrument workshops, kids' and family programming, group singing, storytelling, concerts, and jam sessions.

Energetic dancers at FlurryThe Flurry Festival, Presidents' Day Weekend in Saratoga Springs, is in its 36th year of bringing the joys of dance and music-making to the Capital Region. As a family-friendly and participatory celebration of dozens of genres of traditional dance and music, Flurry provides a welcoming and beginner-friendly environment in which to learn new styles of dance, build your instrumental skills, sing together in harmony, jam with friends, or simply watch and listen to a huge variety of dance and musical genres.

Children 12 and under attend free with accompanying adult!

Storytelling performances and workshops with The Storycrafters, Joe and Jesse Bruchac, and Storytelling and Singing Games with Peter and Mary Alice Amidon

Instrumental Workshops where you can watch the session as a performance, or bring an instrument and join in – Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, and others

Jam Sessions for many musical styles: Cape Breton, Quebecois, Pan-Celtic, Waltz Book, Old Time, Contra Tunes, Scandi, English, Swing, Cajun, Teen Jam

Participatory Singing Sessions such as Shape Note, Gospel Harmony, Funny Songs and Sing-a-Longs, Song Swap, Round Singing, Pub Sing, French Singing

Traditional music concerts: Enjoy listening to live music every hour throughout the Festival – Jazz, Blues, Appalachian, Music of the Workers, Songs of Pete and Woody, Piano Concerts, and more
