Ferrara Dance Studio
At age 22, Jack Ferrara opened Jack’s School of Dance. It was set in a small converted garage with 35 students. Jack had performed on television in the show called “The Juniors” and in dance showcases such as the St. Claire’s Follies as well as for the ALCO and General Electric. He had also performed professionally at resorts in the Catskills. Jack was also the first Dance Program Director for the Rotterdam Parks and Recreation Department.
Since its humble beginnings in 1956, the Jack Ferrara Dance Studio was renamed Ferrara Dance Studio with the addition of his two daughters, Lynn and Terri. Since Jack’s passing in October 1999, the two sisters have kept his legacy alive by impacting childrens’ lives through the art of dance.
