Located nearby in scenic Southfield, MA in the Berkshires, YMCA Camp Wa Wa Segowea is an accredited resident and day camp that takes an intentional approach to ensuring that each child is safe, successful and happy, under the care of our trained staff. We focus on helping kids develop friendships and build character, through a variety of programs and activities led by specialists and professional role models.
At Wa Wa Segowea campers become who they were meant to be. They develop the ability to be genuine, relax, have fun, and really connect with others. They develop self confidence and self-respect as they make new friends, meet challenges, and learn to cooperate. They assume daily responsibilities, from making beds and setting tables to choosing and planning activities. The rhythm of camp balances group activities with individual pursuits and education with recreation. There is time to learn, play, and just be. And there is always time to talk about what matters.
Camp Wa Wa Segowea serves hundreds of campers from near and far. They stay for as little as one week and as long as most of the summer. In addition to the great staff, campers love the FOOD and the setting and the myriad of activities available every day – from enjoying waterfront activities on the 23-acre private lake to exploring the nearly 500 acres of camp-owned wilderness. Each week includes time for building friendships, connecting as a community, caring for the camp, and reflecting on how the values and experiences of camp can carry on throughout the year and into the greater community of our world.
