Valentine's Date Ideas in the Capital District

KidsOutAndAbout usually encourages families to hang out together and explore all that our area has to offer.  But sometimes it's important for parents to get "out and about" without the kids.  So, do you want to enjoy a special Date Night with your significant other? Well, Valentine's Day is a great time to start!  We've put together several fun options for you to have fun, spark up a little romance, and enjoy some adult stuff for a change!

Humor is key in a relationship, and if you've never been to a MopCo show, you'll have fun doing something new together.

It's a classic for a reason. Grab your skates and your honey and drift along the ice together at Empire State Plaza!

Okemo Mountain Resort Love is in the air and on the slopes. Okemo celebrates romance with an on-snow scavenger hunt on Saturday, February 11. Red hearts will be “hidden” along ski trails for skiers and riders to find.

This ballet performance is designed for families if you'd like it as a family date, or you can just go with your date and enjoy the classic love story, reveling in the fact that you don't need to shush anyone.

Snowshoeing
Try something new together. There are beginner snowshoeing outings at Landis Arboretum and Up Yonda Farm.

This can be a lowkey mini-date in the middle of your workdays with no additional childcare required! Take an extra hour for lunch, too.

A cozy evening with four revered singer-songwriters.

Valentine's Day Luminary Walk at Moreau Lake Park on Saturday, February 18, 2023

Take a walk, pose for pictures, and warm up with some hot cocoa.

Sure, this weekend-long festival is family-friendly, but you could still choose to ditch the kids for an evening, right?

If you're truly uncomfortable leaving the little ones and/or watching your budget, you can still set aside a special night. In a blog post on Capital District Fun, I describe how I get the kids to help me organize a date night at my house.

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope your Valentine's weekend is filled with plenty of love and snuggling with and without the whole family!
