The Pigeon is already off on a hilarious rant about all the things he asks for—many of which readers of the earlier Pigeon books will remember—and ends with the all-too-familiar refrain, “It’s not fair.”
- Goldilocks and The Dinosaurs is a new take on the fairy-tale classic Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Once upon a time there were three hungry Dinosaurs….
In addition, Trixie Willems, Mo’s daughter, will premier her Weston Woods documentary, Team Mo, about the people and the creative process behind Mo’s work.
The 11:00am and 11:40am showings of the two animated films, which include a Q & A with Mo, are sold out, as is the documentary at 2:30pm, which will include a Q & A with Mo and Trixie. The three films will be repeated throughout the day, however, so all guests can enjoy them. All activities are free with Museum Admission and Herrell’s Ice Cream will feature specially created ice cream flavors in honor of Elephant and Piggie: Pink Piggie and Blue Elephant.
“At The Carle we try to represent picture books in all their forms — as film, theater, original art, music. So this is a great opportunity for our guests to see these wonderful interpretations of Mo’s books and hear how the films came to be,” says Executive Director Alexandra Kennedy. “Mo will have particularly interesting insights, given his background as an animator for Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network.”
