Talk "Alexander Hamilton: The Man vs. the Musical"
Recently, Alexander Hamilton has received increased attention and respect due to the blockbuster hit musical on Broadway – “Hamilton: An American Musical.” There have been numerous people asking, “Is this show exaggerating Hamilton’s importance during the founding era, or is it justified?” AHA Society President Rand Scholet compares and ranks Hamilton’s contributions with seven other Founding Fathers. Mr. Scholet also shares a number of photos and personal anecdotes from his four year relationship with the musical and its creative genius, Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as Hamilton author Ron Chernow that inspired the musical.” And singing has been known to ‘rise up’…

Painting Unveiling at the Schuyler Mansion
The first-ever painting depicting George Washington, Philip Schuyler, and Alexander Hamilton together be on public display for the first time at the Schuyler Mansion. The painting is by Len Tantillo and on loan from a private collector.
This event is part of a multi-day celebration at the Schuyler Mansion for its centennial of opening to the public as a State Historic Site. "Eliza at the Schuyler Mansion"
AHA Society Vice-President Nicole Scholet de Villavicencio will speak on the life of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, specifically on her time at the Schuyler Mansion. Ms. Scholet de Villavicencio will share stories of notable moments from different periods of Eliza's life in the house, including when she and her family first moved into the house, the Loyalist attack that she survived during the Revolutionary War, her wedding to Alexander Hamilton, her pregnancy with her first son Philip, and her and Alexander's convalescence from yellow fever there.

"Hamilton's Albany" Walking Tour
July 8th Update: PLEASE NOTE THE MEETING LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED
Join a walking tour starting at the New York State Capitol Building (Washington Ave entrance).The walking tour will stretch one mile and end at the Albany First Church, the historic Dutch Reform Church where the Schuylers attended and where Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton's marriage was recorded. and end at the Albany Institute of History and Art, where visitors will be able to view Hamilton related documents and objects.
This programming is part of the AHA Society's Hamilton on the Hudson weekend.
