Flights of Fancy - a Collage Workshop

Come enjoy an afternoon from 1 to 4 PM creating original paper collages inspired by the beauty of birds. Design fantasy bird portraits by simply cutting and gluing decorative papers to create your unique artwork. Bird templates, colorful printed papers and a selection of nature images will be available to choose from. Tips on best techniques for cutting and gluing will be demonstrated.
No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided.
The class is limited to 20 people. The registration deadline is May 31; registration of fewer than 10 participants will require cancellation.
Instructor: Mara Lefebvre is a visual artist with a Fine Arts degree from Skidmore College. She has taught workshops at Hudson Valley Community College, the Colonie Library, Pine Bush Preserve, Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy and Mariandale Retreat Center. Mara is inspired by the beauty of nature and creates in her ranch house studio overlooking her garden.
Location: the Landis library next to the Greenhouse
Registration: Arboretum members, $25; nonmembers, $30. This is an adult workshop.
