Ecological Explorations provides the opportunity for middle school students to explore the Preserve's natural treasures and ecological concepts in an immersive, hands-on format.
The Huyck Preserve is a 2,000+ acre nature preserve and biological research station located in Rensselaerville, NY.  We are dedicated to connecting students with nature through our summer programs focused on hands-on science and nature exploration.

Ecological Explorations provides the opportunity for middle school students to explore the Preserve's natural treasures and ecological concepts in an immersive, hands-on format. Students spend time hiking the Preserve's trails, exploring the ecosystems of the streams, lake, pond, and forests, problem solving, participating in group challenges and activities, and frequently end the day swimming at the lake.
