Beaver Moon - Family Night Hike!
Saturday, November 9th, 2019 – 7 pm
Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center
Columbia County Soil & Water Conservation District
1024 State Route 66, Ghent, NY 12075
Join Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District on November 9th to take a walk just before the Beaver Moon and learn about the North American Beaver! Pamela Price, Certified Wildlife Biologist and Education Program Coordinator at Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center will talk about the beaver and how, as a keystone species, beavers enrich their ecosystems, creating the biodiversity, complexity, and resiliency our watersheds need. Then we will go outside to experience the waxing gibbous moon just before the November full moon as we walk the trail and explore the night life at Mud Creek. Without the use of flashlights, we will moon gaze, and test our own night vision – or lack thereof. All are welcome to enjoy this fun and reflective opportunity!
Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org) provides educational programs and services to help residents and communities manage and protect the natural resources of Columbia County.
** This event is FREE, however, REGISTRATION IS REQUESTED – please contact Pamela Price by phone - 518-267-3313 or email - pamela.price@ccswcd.org.
