Aviation Classes for Students
The Empire State Aerosciences Museum, 250 Rudy Chase Drive, Glenville NY 12302 will offer classes for students (ages 8-15 Years old) to learn about the history of aviation and how planes fly. Classes will be limited to 10 students, and will be conducted in the museum’s outdoor airpark and/or Community Room on Saturdays, May 15, 22 and 29 from 1 – 2:30pm. We will also schedule “Open Cockpit” on a particular plane each Saturday. Schedule for May:
May 15 – Class: “History of Aviation” Open Cockpit: Bell UH1 Huey (Vietnam era).
May 22 – Class: “Forces of Flight” Open Cockpit: Russian MIG 15 Fighter (Korea War era)
May 29 – Class: “Different Parts of a Plane” Open Cockpit: Northrup F-5 Tiger (Top Gun)
Masks are required and social distancing rules will apply. The ESAM airpark contains twenty historic and spectacular military aircraft, so this is a great opportunity to learn about aviation, see something different, and have fun! Cost is $12.00 per student and reservations are necessary. Please call the museum at 518-377-2191 ext. 10 to register.
