Spring Semester | March 13, 2023 – June 2, 2023
Ages 8-13 (click here for younger students)
Is your student ready to become a digital maker and Level-Up their Python coding and physical computing skills? Explore, Test, and Apply CODING fundamentals to control electrical components such as LEDs, buttons, switches, buzzers, potentiometers (dials), and LCD screens to create an LCD display with tuning knobs that they can turn to zoom and modify the fractal patterns. They will write code to create fractal patterns and produce this wonder bit of physical computing art!
Weekly Labs Include Explorations, Investigations, and Applications In –
- Electrical Circuits 101 – electrical energy, static vs current, open vs closed, conductors vs insulators
- Connect and control electrical components such as LEDs, buttons, switches, buzzers, potentiometers (dials), and LCD screens
- Python Coding with loops, variables, functions, conditional statements
- Engineer and Program devices with light, sound, and display functions
