Using technology, YHA's weeklong STEM camps focus on developing transferable life skills for becoming an effective leader, collaborator, and critical thinker. A blend of computer science, creative problem-solving, and teamwork, YHA teaches kids to create cool video games and digital media about challenges impacting the world we live in.

For students in Grades 5-7

Agent Training recruits are on a mission to tackle today’s important issues using coding principles and video game development.

Preparing the next generation of leaders and problem-solvers, YHA Agent Training introduces the fundamentals of coding through the fun and user-friendly programming tool, Scratch. Agents embark on daily missions to create engaging video games and compelling interactive stories. The challenge is to come up with a project that will not only be entertaining, but also promote awareness about important issues impacting our local and global community.

Agent Training will be extended with AT Plus materials for those students who already have a strong background in Scratch from previous YHA sessions or other learning experiences. These new resources will introduce advanced concepts in programming logic, allowing students to create even more engaging games by the end of the week.

Think you have what it takes to change the world? YHA Agent Training wants you!

At YHA Agent Training, your child will learn:
  • Core concepts of computer programming and video game design
  • Strategies for efficient collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Best practices for public speaking — ability to pitch and present work
  • Understanding of important local and global issues
