This camp, held on the Alfred University Tennis Courts, is for boys and girls entering grades 7-12. Training at the beginner through advanced levels will be provided.

We will again be using CampDoc for our online registration system. We are again partnering with CampDoc (an online registration program) to better serve our campers and staff. CampDoc offers online registration and an electronic health record system for campers. The CampDoc site is secure, encrypted and password protected. Only Alfred University Summer Health Staff will have access to camper health information.

Program:
This camp, held on the Alfred University Tennis Courts, is for boys and girls entering grades 7-12. Training at the beginner through advanced levels will be provided.

  • Fundamental instruction in stroke technique, footwork and court strategy
  • Technique training including serve, forehand, backhand and volley
  • A great opportunity for kids to have fun as they improve their stroke production and enhance their understanding of the game of tennis.

Crouch comes to AU following a four-year tennis career at Houghton College, a fellow member of the Empire 8 Conference. He was a three-time Empire All-Conference honoree, earning Second Team honors in singles and doubles in 2017-18 as well as Second Team singles in 2016-17. During his senior campaign he posted a 9-3 overall singles record, including a 7-1 record in Empire 8 play, helping the Highlanders to the Empire 8 Championship match for the first time in program history. He added to his win total, going 9-4 in doubles play during his senior year.
 
On top of playing tennis at Houghton, Crouch has served as a tennis coach since the summer of 2013. Most recently he served as the Director of the Houghton College Tennis Camp where he organized lesson plans and daily schedules while recruiting campers to participate in local events.
 
Prior to his position at the top of the Houghton College Tennis Camp, Crouch was a Tennis Specialist at Southwoods’ Children’s Summer Camp where he oversaw 10-15 students with varying levels of abilities. Prior to that assignment, he spent three summers as a Tennis Coach at the Houghton College Tennis Camp where he coached 10-15 players, organizing skill routines as well as providing in-depth feedback.

Crouch also served as a Private Tennis Instructor during the summer of 2014 while helping as a Camp Coach at the Houghton College Basketball Camp. His other experiences include High School Basketball Official, New York State Life Guard and Swim Instructor.

While at Houghton, Crouch played four years of men’s tennis, two years of men’s basketball and one year of men’s soccer. He graduated from Houghton in 2018 with a degree in Sport Recreation and Wellness with a minor in Coach and Sports Ministry. Crouch is local to the Alfred area, graduating from Fillmore Central School in Fillmore, NY.

Cost: $150 per person

Enroll as soon as possible as enrollments will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until full. To enroll, please complete the online registration form (We support the current and previous major releases of Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari on a rolling basis.). Reminder that the enrollment deadline is July 24.

Cancellation Policy:
Full refunds will be made for cancellations received by June 1. We cannot make refunds to students who cancel after June 1 because the amount of materials purchased, classrooms reserved, and staff hired will be based upon the number of students expected and cannot be changed after that time.
