Summer Art Camp: Harambee! Arts and Crafts from the African Continent

Harambee is a Kiswahili word from Kenya’s national language that means “all pull together.” Join together with artist Vanessa Johnson to explore Africa through arts and crafts, storytelling, drama, and music. Runs July 26-30, 2021; for ages 6-10.

Harambee is a Kiswahili word from Kenya’s national language that means “all pull together.” Join together with artist Vanessa Johnson to explore Africa through arts and crafts, storytelling, drama, and music. Have fun weaving, tie-dying, sewing, stamping, and printing. Make a musical instrument, sew a West African neck pouch, and celebrate the earth’s environment and its animals. Hear stories from Botswana, South Africa, and Ghana, and make the legend of Anansi the Spider come alive.

Art Camps will be held in person in our spacious studio spaces. Students will be required to wear face masks and maintain social distance.

When: July 26-30, 9am-12pm

Cost: Members $115 / Non-Members $130
