Created for students entering grades 6-10, The Summer Academy for Youth provides unique and fun learning experiences that are flexible and convenient. Make the College of Saint Rose your place to be this summer.

Week 1 (July 1-3)
Studio Art: Drawing, Fan Fiction Writing, Sports Team Management, Athletics: Personal Training, Military Strategy, App Design, Nursing.


 

Week 2 (July 8-12)
Fashion Illustration, Small Business Management, American Sign Language, Mindfulness & Yoga, Civics & Democracy, Astronomy, Drawn & Quartered: Math & Art, Social Media Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Game Theory, Epidemiology, Python Coding.


 

Week 3 (July 15-19)
Graphic Novel Creation, Alexander Hamilton History, Song Writing, Theater Make-up, Theater Technology, Aquatic Ecology, Manga Drawing, Poetry Writing, A Capella Singing, Effects Make-up, Environmental Technology, Music Recording, Digital Video Production.


 

Week 4 (July 22-26)
Mixed Media Art, Character Creation, Mystery Writing, Albany Murder & Mystery, Forensics, Espionage History, Interior Design, Play Writing, Sports Broadcasting, Monsters of New York, Archaeology, Computer Forensics, Video Game Design, Digital Video Production.


 

Week 5 (July 29 – August 2)
Sculpture, Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Adventure Writing, Voice-Over Acting, Naval Engineering, Digital Narratives, Zoology, Screen Printing, Studio Art: Painting, Science Fiction Writing, Law & Trial, Acting Techniques, Aerospace Engineering, Veterinary Science, Roller Coaster Engineering.


 

Broadway Bootcamp (July 8– 26)

Broadway performers rely on a variety of skills to propel them to stardom, and this class, taught by New York City theater professionals, will build these valuable skills in one-on-one instruction, group activity, and master classes. The focus of this intensive is on developing a well-rounded, multi-faceted, Broadway-caliber performer and helping students gain the confidence they need to land an audition and shine on stage!

 

The Broadway Bootcamp will culminate in fully staged scenes and songs from the hit musical Legally Blonde, performed at the Swyer Theater at The Egg in Downtown Albany, on Thursday, July 25 at 7pm.
