School Break Star Shows

January 21 @ 11 am: Zoo In the Sky - Meet a lion, bears and other animals of the night sky. After the show, enjoy an astronomy craft with your family! Approprite for children grades pre-K - 2 and their families. $3 all seats. January 21 @ 1 pm: Wonders of the Universe - Interactive program identifies stars, planets and constellations in the night sky and the tools and techniques for becoming an amateur astronomer. Geared for skywatchers 8 and up. $3 all seats.

February 19 @ 1 pm: Wonders of the Universe - Interactive program identifies stars, planets and constellations in the night sky and the tools and techniques for becoming an amateur astronomer. Geared for skywatchers 8 and above. $3 all seats.

February 20 @ 11 am: Astronomy Myths and Mysteries - Zeus and Jupiter! Hermes and Mercury! Aphrodite and Venus! These ancient Gods from Greek and Roman mythology helped ancient astronomers interpret the strangeness of the night sky. Great Gods! will explore the myths surrounding the planets and constellations and will demonstrate how these early astronomers continue to influence our modern scientists today. Ages 8 and above. $3 all seats.

February 21 @ 11 am: Li'l Navigators: Architecture and Astronomy - Ahoy Mateys! Li'l Navigators is a walking tour of the Discover Albany Visitors Center. The walk encourages children to stretch their legs and imagination while exploring our museum. The adventure leads the Li'l Sailors toward the Henry Hudson Planetarium where they will learn about the constellations fellow navigators like Henry Hudson would have used on his ocean voyages. Appropriate for children in grades pre-K - Kindergarten. $3 all seats.
