Princess Family Picnic

Event is $70 for a family of four. Additional children from the same household can be added for $5. Family is defined as adults who reside in a single household and their biological, adopted, foster or step-children. Contact us BEFORE PURCHASING if you wish to invite family from another household, such as grandparents.

 

The event will be held at Thacher State Park, about 15 miles west of Albany, in the Horseshoe II Picnic Pavilion. A map pointing out the pavilion location is posted in the event discussion.
If you don’t have a NY State Park Pass, daily admittance to the park is $6 per vehicle.

 

The theme of this year’s picnic is the Wayfinder’s Birthday! We will sing to her and have cupcakes for our guests. Feel free to bring her a homemade birthday card or drawing. This is also a great opportunity to see our Polynesian Wayfinder one more time before she departs on her newest adventure in August. (As with other events this summer, please DO NOT tell children she is moving. The performer is moving. The character is not.)

 

Two picnic time slots available: 12:00 noon-1:45 and 2:15-4:00. Tickets are for one time slot only, though you may continue to enjoy other areas of the state park before or after your scheduled time! Since venue capacity is limited, we politely request that you do not buy tickets to both times. Performances and activities are identical for both sessions.

 

We encourage families to bring picnic blankets and folding chairs to allow for additional distancing. There is ample room for all of our guests under the pavilion, should rain occur. The pavilion and nearby restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

 

Feel free to wear your favorite princess dress or adventure outfit! We recommend comfortable footwear for natural terrain. Don’t forget sunblock and bug spray!

 

New York State Parks have strict guidelines regarding gatherings during COVID:
• There are restrictions in place for serving food at events. You may, however, bring a personal picnic to be shared by your immediate family. Please remember to bring your own water/beverages as well. The only food included with this event will be individual cupcakes.
• The park may wish take your temperature at the gate.
• We are required to keep a list of guests for contact tracing. You will be asked to provide the names and contact information for everyone in your party at the time of purchase. Please contact us if your guests change. We also have limited capacity for this event, so please come only to your scheduled time slot and bring only your declared guests. You will need to check-in immediately upon arriving at the event.
• All guests must have and wear masks during the event. When possible, please also practice social distancing. Our vaccinated performers have received permission to remove masks for certain activities. We will also have “magic spots” where children can remove masks briefly for photos.
• Guests must sit with their own party to eat and drink.
• These rules are subject to change at any time. We will inform you via email of any rule changes prior to the event!

 

Other policies:
• Event will take place rain or shine, and at almost any temperature. Should we choose to cancel due to extreme weather, all tickets will be refunded. Announcements about this event will be made in the facebook event discussion. Please follow the facebook event to be kept up to date on event changes.
• Tickets are non-refundable. Due to the contact tracing requirements explained above, you must contact us if you wish to transfer tickets to another party.
• Take only photos, leave only footprints! Keep our state parks beautiful by removing your own litter and not picking plants or flowers.
• Please park only in marked parking spaces. Do not park on the grass.
• Please no not bring pets to the picnic.
