Park Playhouse, the Capital Region's leading educator in theatre arts, announces our Winter 2019 Semester of classes. Whether your child is interested in singing, dancing, or acting, we offer classes designed for multiple age ranges to inspire and challenge students from beginner to advanced.
Our Winter Semester begins January 8 and run through April 2 - all classes meet 10 times weekly over the semester on Tuesday & Wednesday nights. We offer options for students ages 4-18!

Class Offerings Include:
K-2nd GRADE -
Sing, Dance & Act With Me - A new offering for our youngest students, we will combine singing, dancing and acting into one fun filled class. Focused on creative drama, students will use their imaginations to create characters and tell stories using their voices and movement!
3rd-5th GRADE -
Young Artist Spotlight - Same great class with a new name! Formerly Performing Artist’s Workshop, students will sing, dance and act using material from their favorite musicals and TV shows! We will teach the foundations of musical theatre - expanding vocabulary and building skills - all while keeping it fun. Use your imagination, be creative and build confidence!
6th-8th GRADE -
Acting I - Learn the foundations of a variety of acting techniques! Explore improvisation and characterization to begin building a "tool belt" of tactics improving your confidence and performance as a young actor.
Beginner/Intermediate Tap - Learn the fundamentals of musical theatre tap! Link individual steps into combinations while keeping clear sounds and rhythms.
Musical Theatre Dance - Jazz and ballet technique, strength and flexibility, technique and performance - all rolled into one!
9th-12th GRADE -
Audition Studio - This 10 week class is intended for advanced students. Focusing on presenting strong, emotionally driven performances through song, students will work on song interpretation in a master class setting. Text analysis, acting exercises and emotional work will take your audition to the next level.
Acting II - Take your acting skills to the next level through deeper analysis of text - at the conclusion of this 10-week course, deconstruct scenes and monologues with ease! This continued exploration of acting techniques will provide a let up while preparing for community, college and professional auditions.
Advanced Tap - An introduction to rhythm tap while continuing to work on and polish the musicality and style of musical theatre tap concepts.
Ballet - Strengthen body and core, learn proper alignment, and develop strong technique that will be essential to all other dance techniques required in musical theatre.
Jazz - Building on concepts from musical theatre dance, this class is an ideal continuation for older students in conjunction with ballet, especially while preparing for college auditions!
