“Hats off to Nisky” is the theme for Niska-Day 38! This year we celebrate all the hats each of us in the community wear to make Niskayuna an amazing place to live, work and learn. It’s hard to believe May 18th will be the 38th year Niska-Day has been brought to the community by the Niskayuna Community Action Program (N-CAP). From the parade to fireworks and everything in between the spirit of Niska-Day will be felt. All the favorites will return with a new surprise or two to enhance the day as we gather to celebrate living, working and learning in Niskayuna. The day will begin with a family fun run starting behind Van Antwerp School, followed by our ever popular parade kicking off at 10:00 AM from the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, reaching the Niskayuna High School parking lot around 11:30 AM. At Craig Elementary School, there will be craft vendors, a bike action conducted by the Niskayuna Police Department, a community tent featuring local not-for-profit organizations, games for children, rides, a day long food court and a gigantic fireworks display. Local businesses will again be present to promote their products and services. Other favorites returning will be pony rides, clowns, photo magnets, face painting and caricatures. Evening entertainment will be provided by the ever popular group, TS Ensemble!
