Milkweed and Monarch Conservation at Thacher Nature Center

The Monarch Butterfly, one of our most vibrant and recognizable species, is on the decline! Learn about the many challeneges Monarchs face in their environment. Find out about the amazing conservation efforts taking place throughout the country, then visit a milkweed patch to learn how this unique plant supports an array of insects, including the Monarch. Participants will take home a milkweed plant and planting instructions. Program is appropriate for ages 7 and up.
