*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 05/22/2020
The Huyck Preserve is excited to bring back field-based learning experiences for homeschool students. Come and experience the joys of spring with us!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

There is no better classroom than the outdoors! Come join Jaime Winans-Solis, Ph.D., as she leads children on a hands-on exploration of the Huyck Preserve's forests, streams and ponds. This program will focus on building ecological understanding through observation, investigation, and documentation of our discoveries, while encouraging creativity through nature art and play.
Designed for homeschool families, children ages 5-12.  Caregivers are asked to stay.  Preschool siblings are also welcome to register.
Please bring layered clothing (including rain gear if needed), weather-proof shoes/boots for hiking,
and snack with drink.

Cost for the spring program (4 classes):  $60 per student for non-members; $40 per student for Preserve members

Classes run from 9:30-11:30 am.
Meet at the Eldridge Research Center (284 Pond Hill Rd., Rensselaerville, NY) unless otherwise instructed.

Please note:  this program requires a minimum of 10 students registered for the full season to run.
Maximum class capacity:  20 students
