This two-week intensive program expands on fundamental filmmaking skills and techniques to create a narrative short film. Students will explore pre-production, production, post-production and distribution – including idea development, camera composition, lighting, sound and editing. Teams will take responsibility for productions as they work in small groups to bring ideas to the screen using DSLR cameras developing working practices learning exposure, depth of field and composition in their cinematography. Students will strengthen editing skills as they find pacing and editing style that match their vision through the use of Adobe Premiere Pro CC. and can learn how to distribute and promote work both online and through film festivals.
NOTE: Students should be comfortable working on location in the downtown Schenectady area as well as be willing to collaborate with other students in the program.
* All equipment will be provided for the students.
Space is limited. A maximum of 15 filmmakers will be accepted into this year’s program.
