Celebrate Pollinator Week w/ the Garden Goddess
National Pollinator Week is a time to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what you can do to protect them. Twelve years ago the U.S. Senate’s unanimous approval and designation of a week in June as “National Pollinator Week” marked a necessary step toward addressing the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations. Pollinator Week has now grown into an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles.
This parent/child friendly event takes the pollinator plant suggestions beyond the greenhouse labels right into a real life touch, smell and feel home garden. Parents and kids will make a pollinator flower in the color to remind them of colors a bee or butterfly attract, choose to paint a butterfly feeder or a birdhouse, complete the self guided pollinator friendly garden treasure hunt and take home a list of plants that will work in our region. Recommended ages 3 -11 years old. Cost is $15.00/child. Registration ahead of time suggested by paypal at:
Day of walk ins welcome by cash and check.
