Bethlehem Youth Basketball Instructional League
The Bethlehem Youth Basketball Winter League is for Grades Kindergarten thru 3rd Grade. We allow players to "play up" or "play down" a grade level so Pre-Kindergarteners and 4th Graders are welcome to participate.
Each session will designate the first 30 minutes as time to work on the fundamental aspects of basketball while the next 30 minutes will be a running time game. Parent volunteer coaches are welcome to help model the instruction demonstrated by the lead instructor during the skills and drills portion of the session. Drills will include all the fundamental areas of the game of basketball such as dribbling, shooting, passing, pivoting and help side and ball side defense.
Each child will be assigned to a team (Eagle Orange or Eagle Black). Those team names are designated on the schedule which shows when your child plays and at what location on a given date. Teams will receive a time slot of 6:00-7:00 p.m. The day of the week, time slot and location will remain the same for the entire season. Parent volunteers can coach their child's team and can make that known through a question that appears on the online registration form. Players will experience growth in the areas of social interaction, sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play through acquisition of the rules of the game and skill development.
