“Tunes and Tales from the Towpath” by The Hudson River Ramblers

Come along on a journey in story and song, to when the Erie Canal was the major “super highway” of the young nation. Master storyteller Jonathan Kruk and historical balladeer Rich Bala, dressed in period clothing, will be your guides along the way.

Come along on a journey in story and song, to when the Erie Canal was the major “super highway” of the young nation. Master storyteller Jonathan Kruk and historical balladeer Rich Bala, dressed in period clothing, will be your guides along the way. With entertaining and enlightening tales and tunes about the canal’s history and folklore, the program will offer something for every family member to enjoy and will provide plenty of opportunities for everyone to participate.

Before the performance at 11:30am, join Senior Historian and Curator Brad L. Utter for a tour of the New York State Museum’s Erie Canal Bicentennial exhibition, Enterprising Waters: New York’s Erie Canal. Learn about the building of the canal, as well as the politics, industries, and growth throughout its 200-year history.
