Day camp at the Scenectady JCC is very popular and has been going strong for decades, only getting better along the way.
The camp is divided into four units, depending on your child's age.
Kitanim is for our youngest campers, those 3 or 4-years-old by Dec. 1, 2018.
Bonim is for children entering kindergarten or first grade in the fall.
Yeladim is for children entering second or third grade in the fall and Tzofim is for those entering fourth, fifth or sixth grade in the fall.
Campers get the chance to experience sports, nature, arts & crafts. There are also late nights for Bonim and Yeladim units.
Swimming is an essential part of the camp experience. Each group will swim twice per day, once 30-minute session of instructional lessons and one 30-minute free swim.
Lessons are taught by certified lifeguards and are assisted by the counselors. The swim program offers American Red Cross levels 1-6, teaching swimming fundamentals. On your child's first day, Water Safety Instructors will test and then place him/her in the appropriate level, based on assessment of their swimming ability.
