Winter Audition Intensive

This 3-week intensive will help you nail that next audition! Whether your sights are set on professional productions, top musical theatre college programs or you are looking to improve your skills for auditions here at Park Playhouse, there are tools and techniques that can boost your confidence and better equip you for success. We will focus first on how to find appropriate audition material and then on what to do once you've found that perfect song or monologue. Week one we will focus on how to choose material that is right for you and start to dissect your selections. Weeks two and three we will put our tools into practice and coach our songs and monologues. This class will be taught by Meredith Myers with accompaniment and additional coaching by Leora Bernstein. Each session is three hours and will be held at Cohoes Music Hall.

Meet Your Teaching Artist: Meredith Myers
Meredith is a proud member of Actor’s Equity. She is a NYC based actor and holds her her MFA in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory. She was seen on the Park Playhouse stage in productions of Hands on a Hardbody, Pinkalicious, and A Year with Frog and Toad. She most recently finished a touring production of Henry & Mudge with Theatreworks USA. She actively auditions for musicals and plays in New York and is looking forward to sharing what she has learned throughout her career!
Meet Your Accompanist: Leora Bernstein
Leora has worked as an actress, vocal coach and accompanist both regionally and nationally. Her favorite project to date was the national tour of Ramona Quimby. An MFA graduate from the Boston Conservatory, Leora is proud to say she is a PPII alum, having played Jack's Mother in Into the Woods, Jr. back in 2004. She now works in publishing at Macmillan Publishers in New York City.
