Octagon Barn Star Party and Lecture

Join us for an astronomy lesson and dark sky observing at the Octagon Barn in Delanson, NY! Programs include a 1 hour talk by local astronomy enthusiasts, followed by night sky observing.

Tonight’s Topic:  Viewing the Solar Eclipse from the Capital Region, Dr. Harry Ringermacher

         

 

A total eclipse of the Sun will traverse the United States of America on Monday, August 21, 2017. Here in Schenectady we will not be in that path of totality but with clear skies we should have about 70% of Our Sun obscured by Our Moon.  You can learn how to prepare and what to expect during this exciting event.

 

Join us for an astronomy lesson and dark sky observing at the Octagon Barn in Delanson, NY! Programs include a 1 hour talk by local astronomy enthusiasts, followed by night sky observing if the weather is clear. Amateur astronomers and families are invited to bring binoculars or telescopes. Telescopes will also be set up for public use. Great for older children and adults!
