New Jerusalem Home of the Saved Church is located at 160 Sheridan Avenue, in the heart of the Sheridan-Hollow/Arbor Hill community in Albany, New York.

We believe in one God, our Lord Jesus Christ, Creator of all things, visible and invisible; made known as Father in Creation, Son in Redemption and Holy Spirit in the Church. Born of the Virgin Mary, both human and divine, God Jehovah Incarnate who suffered and died for our sins, was buried, rose again on the third day according to the scriptures and ascended into Heaven until the restitution of all things, and will appear in Glory to be glorified with His saints who will judge with Him the living and the dead, and reign throughout Eternity.

Our church is blessed to serve as a positive, long-standing, action-oriented force in the community committed to making a difference by improving the lives of those in need. Throughout the church’s rich 63 year history, numerous programs have been successfully launched to help enrich the lives of those in the community, without regard to their religious affiliation. Such programs include a community enrichment program, youth program, nursing home visits, holiday meals and numerous other outreach events.

The Annual Community Block Party directly serves the community in a significant way by promoting a sense of community and making self-betterment resources (ie. employment readiness resources, literacy, health care, etc.) readily available to children, adults and families that might benefit most. The goal of this annual effort is to bring about positive and lasting community change as a result of the efforts of numerous coordinated volunteers and service agencies.

In addition New Jerusalem offers the youth an opportunity to actively participate in "Youth on Fire!". The goal of this program is to provide a warm, loving and safe environment for children to gain confidence, express creativity and learn through a variety of structured activities. During this time, the very capable and experienced male and female volunteer Youth Department Directors lead the children in age appropriate character-building activities and discussions. The volunteers are dedicated to partnering with parents to both train and nurture today’s youth and are committed to providing high quality, transforming programs and activities…offering parents extra help and great hope for their children's futures.

The church is under the leadership of a community-focused, bible-based Pastor (Dr. T.L. Harper) who also serves as College Professor (with an earned Ph.D.) at Skidmore College, instructing academic courses in Business Management and Organizational Studies.
