Free Family Saturdays at Hanford Mills Museums

Come experience Hanford Mills Museum with your favorite kids. Hands-on activities lets kids explore gears and power generation. Celebrate the spirit of innovation and ingenuity evident during the Mill's 160 year history as a working mill. Features guided tours and demonstrations of the Mill’s historic water-powered sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop. Up to two adults will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by a child (preschool through high school.) Children aged 13-18 will be admitted free of charge as well. Children 12 and under always receive free admission to the Museum. Free Family Saturdays also will be held June 17, July 22, August 12 and September 2.
Hanford Mills Museum operates an authentic water- and steam-powered historic site, which includes a sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop. The mission of Hanford Mills Museum is to inspire audiences of all ages to explore connections among energy, technology, natural resources and entrepreneurship in rural communities with a focus on sustainable choices. The museum, which is listed on the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places, will open for the 2017 season on May 17.
