Engineering Exploration Program

This program is an introduction to engineering concepts with a focus on creativity, teamwork, communication, and working across seven available engineering disciplines.

Who: Open to rising 11th, and 12th graders
Where: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Facilities
When: July 16-20, 2018 | Duration: One Week
Cost: Commuters: $850.00 | Residential: $1835

Students will be introduced to various disciplines as well as engineering design processes through a week-long project, providing a design-built-test experience.
Participants will be in a lecture/experiment type setting, utilizing knowledge from the lectures to perform experiments in aspecific discipline. We will cover an introduction to Electrical Engineering and with Magnetic Levitation Control experiment, spend time working on a wind turbine project. A component of the syllabus will also cover an introduction to Materials Science, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, as well as visits to several top-tier research labs, like our wind tunnel and Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory.
