Capital Region Institute For Human Rights

The Capital Region Institute for Human Rights provides human rights education to secondary students and teachers interested in deepening their understanding of contemporary human rights issues. Rooted in civic action and social justice, our summer program, the Teen Summer Symposium on Human Rights, is designed for students interested in social justice, politics, and current events. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from social justice advocates, survivors of human rights abuses, and through hands-on workshops develop the skills and knowledge to make a difference in their communities.
