How much life is in one cubic foot? Why does it matter? Over 98% of the life in our surroundings goes unexplored by the average person. Join Freshwater Ecologist Dr. Denise Mayer and Educator, Hatti Langsford of the NYS Museum and become a citizen scientist. Examine beautiful bugs, incredible invertebrates and fascinating freaks of nature in the Hudson River. You will then share your findings in the worldwide Biocube Database at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. That is Science in Action…Explore, Observe and Share!
Join us to collect creatures in the Hudson River at the Albany Corning Preserve or come to NYS Museum lab at 2 p.m. to see what we caught!
Off-site program will take place at Corning Preserve Boat Ramp. Parking lot is located under I-787 off either Water Street or between Colonie Street and North Ferry Street.
