Albany Academies

Join us for a visual and cultural adventure through Asian Art studies and activities. Students will have the opportunity to learn and create calligraphy, origami, painting, sculpture, and other art forms celebrated in Asian culture. A typical day may look like hand-building Japanese food out of clay while listening to traditional Japanese music, or hand-lettering a Chinese character in ink onto a paper fan. Students’ appreciation for Asian Art and culture will be enriched.

Join us for a week of immersive creativity. We will begin the day by diving into an independent art project that each student wishes to explore. Students will be supported to expand their skills, and knowledge of new materials to find a source of self-expression. The afternoon will be spent collaborating to design and create sets to support the theater camp for their performance of Shrek The Musical JR. on Friday, July 12 at 4:00 p.m. (Entering Grades 7-8)
